Calling all dog lovers and anyone who wants to make a difference in the lives of our beloved canine companions. The Yacolt Mutt Strut is the ultimate celebration of all things dog, where we come together as a community to raise funds for our furry friends at the Southwest Washington Humane Society.
Picture a vibrant parade of wagging tails. as we embark on a scenic walk through the beautiful town of Yacolt. Does not matter if you are a proud pup owner, dog lover, or someone who wants to participate to support a great cause, then this event is for you!

At the heart of this event lies a story of compassion and support. It all started with an local non-profit called the Church of Pug. They are remarkable organization dedicated to helping dogs in need. They very generously donated a wheelchair to my beloved furry friend Charlie when he was in need of help being mobile due to old age and bad genetics. Charlie was the most lovable dog ever. When I say lovable we always joke that he got two hearts because he loves any and all with an unconditional love that is palpable. The last year of his life that little man faced mobility challenges that affected his quality of life. The Church of Pug recognized stepped in and helped as soon as the request for help was made. They did so without question, and with so much compassion and knowledge on how to help him. Their act of kindness provided Charlie with the means to move when he couldn't, but it also inspired this whole event. The way they showed compassion and support without questions was unbelievable and it has launched this whole event. This year our focus is a little different this year with HSSW being the benefactor, but now you know how and why this event got started.

Each year, thousands of pets in our community receive lifesaving support at HSSW. We provide shelter to lost and stray pets, a refuge from abuse and neglect, essential medical care, and a second chance for a happy home. And our commitment to the pets and people of Southwest Washington extends beyond the shelter, providing critical support to pets and families with Wellness Clinics, pet food assistance, spay & neuter services, emergency boarding, financial assistance, and other programs that help keep families together.
We also own and operate ReTails Thrift Store – named best of Clark County seven years running! Giving new life to gently-used items, every purchase and donation at ReTails supports our lifesaving work with the animals.

By participating in this event you will be giving back to the Humane Society of Southwest Washington. As most of you know they are an amazing local organization. They provide shelter to lost and stray pets, a refuge from abuse and neglect, essential medical care, and a second chance for a happy home. Their commitment to the pets and people of Southwest Washington extends beyond the shelter, providing critical support to pets and families with Wellness Clinics, pet food assistance, spay & neuter services, emergency boarding, financial assistance, and other programs that help keep families together.
This will be a great family friendly community event. All ages are welcome to participate. Sign up to do the walk and then enjoy shopping, and fun at the park following the walk. 2nd Annual Yacolt Mutt Strut
AUGUST 24th 2024 10am-12:00pm
Starting at the Yacolt Recreational Park we will head over to the Yacolt Town Park loop back to the Yacolt Recreational Park. When we return to the park participants will be greeted with a warm welcome from our local vendors and sponsors who have joined forces to help make this event truly unforgettable. From the local vendors offering unique products, to delicious beverages to enjoy there will be something for everyone on the day of the event.
For those who prefer a more relaxed experience The Yacolt Recreational Park will be a great gathering spot. Here friends and family who do not wish to walk or run can join in the festivities. With shaded areas, restrooms, and plenty of space for everyone to mingle, it is the ideal spot to cheer everyone on and enjoy the friendly atmosphere.
Everyone is encouraged to participate. This event is not just for dog owners it is for anyone who wants to celebrate the love and joy that our furry friends bring to our lives. Mark your calendars, gather your friends and family, and get ready to strut your mutt at the 2nd annual Yacolt Mutt Strut.
Vendors and local small businesses are all encouraged to come out and participate. Join us at the Yacolt Recreational Park where we will gather after the walk for some fun. Vendors you can help make this a successful and exciting event. Booths will only be $40, and all proceeds go towards the funds raised for the Humane Society. As a vendor your name and link to your business website will be included on this website, print, social media, and other advertising. It will not only be a lot of blast but an opportunity for great exposure, and you’ll be supporting the animals. What could be better? Get signed up today!
Tents and tables are responsibility of vendors. 12x12 spaces available to each vendor, if you need a larger space you are welcome to purchase two. Set up at the Yacolt Recreational park starts at 8:30am the morning of the 24th. The walk begins at 10am. Email yacoltmuttstrut@gmail.com with any questions.

This is the regular event registration for the event as an individual and not as a sponsor. If you would like to sign up to participate follow the link in the box. The cost of the event is $30 and you will receive a tee shirt at the end of the event for participating. Dogs will receive a bandana! Participants will also receive one complimentary digital pet photo done the day of the event by Pointer Photograhy.
